Unique Miniatures
My passion for Dolls House Miniatures began in about 1970. I was a mere spring chicken then, barely 7 years old. During a school trip, we visited the Kirkgate Victorian Street, in York and in one of the shop windows I saw an enormous doll's house (I was 7.... it seemed enormous!). I never forgot that dolls house. It was to be another 15 years before I had my own dolls house and since then it has become my greatest passion, both as a maker and collector of fine miniatures from all over the world.
I starting making items to sell way back in the mid 1990's but as I also had a full time job, I couldn't devote the time needed to create miniature miracles so reluctantly gave it up. Things have changed now and I have the time to create wonderful pieces for doll's houses or shops. I occasionally sell my pieces on Ebay.co.uk, (vhminiatures) and on my website www.uniqueminiatures.co.uk and also at fairs around York, Leeds, Lancashire and also in Scotland. I was lucky enough to be at Scottish Miniatura this year. Full details of all the fairs I attend are on the homepage of my website. Most of my items are One of a Kind which means I may make another similar item, but not one that is the same. All my items are signed where space permits. I love my work and I am sure you will too.
On Ebay.co.uk, I am a member of CDHM.
I pay a great deal of attention to detail and an item must be really good to make it into my own dolls house or shop. Therfore, if it is not good enough for me, then I won't put it up for sale. After 25 years, I have become quite picky about the quality I expect for my money and so should you. If you have a special item in mind from whatever era, it will be my pleasure to work with you to try create your heirloom keepsake.
